The schedules for the 2018 Firefighter I Courses are now available at the Open Enrollment Section of the website. Registrations for the Firefighter I Hybrid and Conventional Courses for 2018 will begin approximately 60 days prior to the date of the first class.

The Hybrid class is a combination of online learning and traditional classroom sessions offered over a 15-week period.  This course will consist of five mandatory classroom sessions, eight online sessions, six hands-on training evolutions (HOT) and will conclude with the Practical Skills exam and written final exam.

The Conventional class will consist of fourteen traditional classroom sessions, six hands-on training evolutions (HOT) and will conclude with the Practical Skills exam and written final exam.  Quizzes and tests must be successfully completed on-line each week.

The Sunday Boot Camp class is offered over a ten-week period and will consist of fourteen classroom sessions, six hands-on training sessions (HOT) and will conclude with the Practical Skills exam and written final exam.  The majority of the course is structured with traditional classroom sessions in the morning and hands-on training in the afternoon.  Quizzes and tests must be successfully completed on-line.

The Weekday Boot Camp course is offered over a two-week period and will consist of fourteen classroom sessions, six hands-on training sessions (HOT) and will conclude with the Practical Skills exam and written final exam.  The majority of the course is structured with traditional classroom sessions in the morning and hands-on training in the afternoon.  Quizzes and tests must be successfully completed on-line.  Due to the condensed timeline of the course, extensive preliminary reading and work is required.

Pre-registration is required for all courses.

Pre-requisites:  CPR & First Aid, NIMS IS-700, 100 & 200 Certificates, SCBA qualified by the Department.
