This two session course consists of a classroom presentation covering the principles of rescuing victims in ice through an organized approach. Information presented includes, ice conditions, techniques of rescue, victim care, cold-water syndrome, hypothermia, wind chill, frostbite and recovery operations. The second session is conducted outdoors, in daylight hours, when prevalent conditions provide suitable ice to allow students to demonstrate techniques presented during classroom session.
