The Firefighter 1 program will be offered in four formats. They are as follows:

Hybrid Class - The Hybrid class is a combination of online learning and traditional classroom sessions offered over a 15-week period.  There are five mandatory classroom sessions, eight online sessions and six hands-on training (HOT).  Included are the Practical Skills exam and written final exam.

Conventional Class - This course is comprised of fourteen classroom sessions, six hands-on training (HOT) and the Practical Skills exam and written final exam.  The class will meet on a set day and time each week.  Quizzes and tests must be successfully completed online.

Sunday Boot Camp - This course is offered over a ten-week period on Sundays.  Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and run to approximately 2:00 p.m.  The majority of the course is structured with traditional classroom sessions in the morning and hands-on training in the afternoon.  Quizzes and tests must be successfully completed online.  The course concludes with the Practical Skills exam and written final exam.

Weekday Boot Camp - This course is offered over a two-week period.  Classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and run to approximately 3:00 p.m.  The majority of the course is structured with traditional classroom sessions in the morning and hands-on training in the afternoon.  Quizzes and tests must be successfully completed online.  The course concludes with the Practical Skills exam and written final exam.  Due to the condensed timeline, extensive preliminary reading and work is required.
