Suffolk County Fire Academy courses are only available to active members of Suffolk County Volunteer Fire Departments.
Once again the Vocational Education and Extension Board will be considering nominees for its "Medal of Valor Awards” for meritorious actions performed 1/1/16 through 12/31/16.
Every department has the opportunity to honor its firefighters by forwarding their nominees who are worthy of consideration for these awards.Please go to our download section for the criteria and application for the 2016 awards. All applications must be returned to the Vocational Education and Extension Board, PO Box 128, Yaphank, NY 11980-0128 and postmarked no later than March 1, 2017.

The schedules for the 2017 Firefighter I Courses are now available at the Open Enrollment Section of the website. Registrations for the Firefighter I Hybrid and Conventional Courses for 2017 will begin approximately 60 days prior to the date of the first class.
Firefighters whose CPR certification is expiring are eligible to recertify by taking Class 1 of any CPR course held at the Suffolk County Fire Academy. Refer to the monthly schedule for upcoming classes. Call the Academy at 631-924-6822 to register. Walk-ins are not permitted.
