Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations with HMFRO

Description

The student will be provided with the training to support firefighting activities that arise before, during and after fire attack with respect to their exterior only classification.

The student will be exposed to the knowledge and skills pertaining to: Scene Safety, Fire Behavior, PPE and SCBA Practices (excluding donning and doffing of SCBA), Fire Extinguishers, Hose and Appliances (excluding fire advancement and attack), Fire Streams, Ground Ladders, Ropes, Knots and Salvage. Includes Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations. The course is derived from the Firefighter I Curriculum.

Prerequisite: CPR, ICS100*
