Rope Rescue Technician – Level I

Description

Provides information and skills to perform advanced vertical rope rescue techniques in an urban/suburban environment. The overall objective is to improve rescuer awareness of the safety concerns at rope rescue situations and to develop advanced skills in the high angle rescue techniques and systems. Topics include ascending, pickoffs, in-line transfer, knot passing, team operations, advanced litter packaging, rigging, and lowering as well as horizontal and high/low tensioned systems. This program also includes written testing as well as skills evaluation.

Course Length: 32 hours
Prerequisites: Rescue Technician-Basic, Rope Rescue-Operations Level or Intermediate Rope Rescue
