Fire Extinguishers in the Workplace

Description

This program is intended to assist the employer in addressing the OSHA training requirements in 29 CFR 1910-157, which briefly states that if an employer is going to permit an employee to fight a fire of any size, the employer must make sure that the employee knows the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage of firefighting.  Students will be trained how to safely face a fire situation and how to choose an appropriate extinguisher.  They will be trained in extinguisher identification, the purpose of each extinguisher and the practical use of the extinguishers they will encounter.  Course is taught to first responders as well as general industry employees.
