This course provides the student with the specialized skills required during heavy rescue/vehicle extrication and victim disentanglement operations. The program involves both classroom lecture and hands-on training. It covers the use of hydraulic/battery powered rescue tools, air tools, air bags, and specialized equipment and procedures used to stabilize vehicles in various positions. This course will also cover vehicle construction and technology as well as alternative fueled vehicles.
